In a certain sense, it's actually a little embarrassing to be breaking my own personal rules for the second time in a week.
Earlier this week, I noted the amount of effort I've gone to in order to avoid addressing the issue of Canadian Cynic in a personal sense.
The idea has always been that my issue with Canadian Cynic has never been personal. Rather, it's been about preserving legitimate progressive political values from those who would, through their own behaviour, defame them while cowering behind a veil of anonymity.
But today things have changed. That veil of anonymity is no more.
The Canadian Blogosphere finally knows Robert Peter John Day for precisely who he is -- even if those who worship him at his Temple of Sychophantic Groupthink refuse to admit to it.
The litany of Day's offenses, abuses, and general stupidities have been laid bare -- again, even if his mindless toadies refuse to admit to it.
Now, he can no longer attack people from behind his veil of anonymity and arrogance. He has a lot to answer for.
Amongst these things, most certainly, is the vile and pernicious slander perpetrated against me at length by Mr Day. The work of the enterprising bloggers who uncovered his identity will certainly make it much easier to pursue libel damages from Mr Day, who has now been directly issued notice of libel and instructions to cleanse the internet of it.
Certainly, Canada's hateful left will sputter with outrage at the revelation of Mr Day's identity.
They can save it. We are speaking, of course, of an individual who has never shied away from attempts to utterly destroy the lives of his detractors. In each case, he has failed utterly.
There is no reason in the world why Robert Peter John Day shouldn't have to face the most comprehensive responsibility for his actions: having to face himself in the mirror each and every morning, knowing full well the number of people who now know precisely who he is, and precisely what he has done.
Hopefully Day's other detractors and victims will have the moral decency to draw the line far short of posting his personal information anywhere on the internet: home address, phone number, personal email addresses should all be treated as off-limits.
Almost everyone walking God's green Earth is a better person than Robert Peter John Day. Whether they recognize it or not, they are obligated to act like it.
It's on this note that the book on Canadian Cynic can now be closed for good.
But fortunately, it's been brought to my attention that Robert Peter John Day has provided fresh manna from heaven -- countless other writings that one can scour for his trademark intellectual dishonesty and hatemongering.
The book on Robert Peter John Day has now been opened.
And you don't have to worry much about me, Robert: if anyone posts any of your personal information it certainly will not be me. I've drawn my line in the sand. Although I fully expect you to cross it, I will not.
It's all part of that "better than you" thing that you resent so much.

Patrick, you boob, how did you intend to serve your papers without using the address I posted?
Why is a person's identity fair game, but all of the information which is freely obtainable from that identity is not?
It's very. Very. Simple.
If someone is attacked in their home, and you have provided that information, you are responsible for that attack.
Just like, Richard, if someone had followed Canadian Cynic's instructions and stalked your kids to school, he'd be responsible for that because he provided them with information that helped them do it -- in this case, your own home address.
Did you really serve papers or is that just bluster?
I ask this in good faith. I'd just be surprised, that's all.
I served notice. I've given him notice that the comments were libelous and instructions to remove the comments in question.
I'm also giving him time to remove the comments in question. After that, I will serve papers in the defense of my reputation.
So you lied Patrick -
Just for chuckles, why don't you post what you "served" him?
ROTFL
Fuck off, Cherni. You clearly have nothing of value to add to this conversation.
The great balbulican, seer, prestidigitator and clairvoyant, correctly predicted many moons ago that despite his many blustering declarations to the contrary, Richard Evans would NOT press charges of any kind against a certain blogger.
He was correct.
The great B. then made the same astonishing prediction vis a vis Werner Patels, who declared that a lawsuit was already in the works against a certain bloggers.
Amazingly, the Great B. was again correct.
I am now going for the trifecta.
Patrick, you are NOT launching a legal action.
The nice thing about specific predictions is they can be tested. So remember this date.
Well, Balbulican, the thing about it is that I may not launch libel proceedings against Mr Day.
For example, if he takes advantage of the time I'm right now giving him, as per my notice of libel, to remove the libelous comments in any and all places where he has made them, I won't proceed with legal action.
If he doesn't, I will.
So I guess this is the question, Balbulican: do you believe that Mr Day has the integrity to recognize that the jig is up, do the right thing, and delete his pernicious lies? (And you cannot deny that they are especially pernicious.)
If so, I'd be happy to hear it. Mr Day himself isn't really worth the trouble. My reputation, however, is.
Keep on digging....
Jig is up? Are you, "like" four years old?
You boasted about legal action... C'mon, where is it?
Or are you like NAMBLA obsessed DICK that too chicken to action do something...
Cherni, if you were any older than four years old you'd be really, really embarrassed by that last sentence.
Cherni, if you were any older than four years old you'd be really, really embarrassed by that last sentence.
And if you had any sense of the truth, you'd be embarassed by some of the stuff you've written that's been shown to be patently false.
So I guess (quoting you) that's a wash then...
Now, Sparky. We've been over this.
I know that you can't accept that the past is in the past, and that some people would choose to move forward, embrace the present and look toward the future.
But doesn't it embarrass you that what you feel is some sort of great triumph for you is actually a re-hashing of someone else's old arguments.
I'll let you dwell on the vicarious sickness of that for a while, and let you pretend that I actually take you seriously.
Thank you for articulating your point so vacuously, Patrick.
If you feel the need to constantly attribute feelings and emotional content to those you disagree with to in order to facilitate a better rebuttal, I'm glad to be of service.
However, if you want to be taken seriously, it is you who has to correct your past wrongs. I'm just pointing out your rampant hypocrisy--reminding you that you have no leg to stand on when you supposedly point it out in others.
Yawn.
Sparky, you seem to be the only one so fixated on whatever past wrongs you want to complain about.
Even beyond that, there's the very simple matter about Mr Day's wrongs as compared to my own. Apparently, Sparky, your complaint here is that I made some mistakes.
Being human, I have made some mistakes. Everyone has.
But the morally wrong acts committed by Mr Day -- some of which hilariously couple with various factual mistakes -- are a very different matter.
And, once again, Sparky, it's amusing to think that all you have to preen about is what you feel are someone else's triumphs.
As I told you before, you're a sick individual.
Take a breath. Move on.
Whether you like it or not, I have.
